Our commitment

We are home study approved and awaiting the opportunity to add a child to our family. We will teach our child to be loving, confident, honest, responsible and eager to see the world. We will nurture our child with clear boundaries to guide them in a healthy, loving, safe manner. Our hearts fill with joy and excitement at the opportunity to attend our child’s activities that may include sports, music, art, theater – whatever! Education is very important to us and we look forward to helping our child learn and enjoy his/her favorite school subjects.

We are friends with two families who have also adopted children – one family with two children from Korea and another who adopted domestically. Again, we embrace diversity and love sharing meals and celebrations with our friends from Brazil, China, Germany and the good ol’ USA. We live in a family-oriented neighborhood with parks, trails and amusements all close by. Our community is known for its top notch health care facilities, excellent schools and many sports programs.  It’s a great place to raise kids!  We have a home with four bedrooms, a big kitchen and a fenced-in backyard.

Darren will be the stay-at-home daytime parent for our child.  Darren has flexibility with his job and business to work evenings, and Amy’s job has daytime hours. For years, we have balanced our opposite-work schedules and we feel that this offers many advantages including one-on-one time with our child in addition to abundant family time.  We look forward to always having one of us available to be with our child.

Thank you for your time. If you are looking for an open adoption, we want you to know we are definitely open to that and believe open adoption is beneficial to everyone involved. If you are looking for more of a closed adoption, we certainly understand and respect your desire for privacy. We will be here to support you at the level you are most comfortable. We look forward to hearing from you and learning more about you and your hopes and dreams for yourself and your child. Even though we don’t know you yet, you are in our thoughts and our door is open to you.
